De Dar Mlodziezy is eigendom van de Hogere Zeevaartschool van Gdynia, die het schip inzet als opleidingsschip. Aan boord is plaats voor 120 + 30 cadetten en een vaste bemanning van 44 personen. De "Dar" is volledig uitgerust voor de opleiding van studenten in de maritieme wereld. Zo is er, onder de hoofd-navigatiebrug een extra brug uitgerust met dezelfde instrumenten en verschillende kaartentafels. Ook beschikt het schip over een apart klaslokaal.
Dar Mlodziezy has been
owned by the Gdynia Maritime Academy since she was built in 1982, replacing
the frigate Dar Pormoza which had trained future officers of merchant and
fishing fleets for more than 50 years. Dar Mlodziezy has taken part in
the Tall Ships' Race many times. Her debut was in 1982 when she crossed
the start line directly after being commissioned. Shortly after, she began
a circum-navigation of the globe which coincided with the 200th anniversary
of Australia.
